Konrad Schwanecke

Director

Originally trained in South Africa, Konrad has been a full time Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Wairarapa for over twenty years, working in both the public and the private sector. During this time, he has amassed a wealth of local knowledge and experience regarding rural surgical healthcare delivery, with its attendant rewards and challenges. With our rapidly increasing and ageing population, there is a critical need to develop additional hospital and surgical facilities in the Wairarapa, so that current services can be maintained and enhanced. To this end Konrad initiated a collaborative effort between Matua Healthcare Group, local clinicians and Selina Sutherland Hospital, to develop and build a new standalone Private Hospital facility in Masterton.
